North Carolina Foster Parent Association Update

Amazon.com to donate profits to NCFPA: Amazon.com has agreed to donate a portion of its sales to the NCFPA. Here's how it works: for every one of their customers who enters Amazon.com through the NCFPA site, they will give the association a percentage of the customer's purchase. Thus, not only will you be saving on books, CDs, videos, and other items, you'll be helping the NCFPA pay for foster parent training and other activities. For this to work, however, you MUST enter Amazon.com through the icon on the NCFPA web page.

What is the North Carolina Foster Parent Association?

The NCFPA is an organization of foster, adoptive, and kinship parents, child advocates, and others who work together to support the safety, well-being, and nurturing of the 11,500 children in North Carolina's foster care system.

Their mission is simple: to promote quality foster and adoptive services through collaborative advocacy, education, resources, and networking.

By working together for our state's most vulnerable children, NCFPA helps ensure that every child receives exceptional care while in the foster care system, appropriate and effective services, and, ultimately, a safe, permanent, and loving home.

Did you know?

• 22.4 pecent of U.S. children live in poverty, the second highest (after Mexico) in a survey of industrialized nations

• 2.6 percent of Swedish children live in poverty, the lowest surveyed
