Changing My Life

Inspired by the writing contest for foster children in the last issue of Fostering Perspectives, several adult readers wrote in to tell us about the three things they would change about their life if they could. Below are some of their answers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would change my heart and make it even larger so that it would contain all of the love I feel for the children I care for.

I would change my eyes so that I could see more clearly the different needs of "my children" and how to meet those needs.

I would change my tone of voice so that "my children" could hear and feel nothing but compassion, encouragement, and gratitude flowing from my lips!

As for the three things I would change if I could--first would be to make more of my wishes (a nicer care, a good husband, to own a home) a reality. Next I would have dedicated more of my life to the care of children other than my own. Lastly, I would have worked harder to develop a friendship from my young adult years that would take me through old age. These changes would only enrich my already full life.
