The North Carolina Foster Parent Association

What is the North Carolina Foster Parent Association?
The NCFPA is an organization of foster, adoptive, and kinship parents, child advocates, and others who work together to support the safety, well-being, and nurturing of the 11,500 children in North Carolina's foster care system.

Their mission is simple: to promote quality foster and adoptive services through collaborative advocacy, education, resources, and networking.

By working together for our state's most vulnerable children, NCFPA helps ensure that every child receives exceptional care while in the foster care system, appropriate and effective services, and, ultimately, a safe, permanent, and loving home.

What does NCFPA do?
NCFPA provides support, information, and networking opportunities to foster, adoptive, and kinship parents in North Carolina. It offers:

  • a web page that includes information about NCFPA, resources for foster/adoptive parents, and current activities of the association;
  • an annual traiing conference for foster/adoptive/kinship parents;
  • technical assistance and supprt for foster and adoptive parents and local associations; and
  • advocacy efforts for children in North Carolina's foster care system.
