Don't miss the annual NCFPA's annual conference!

Mark your calendar now for the 2001 NCFPA Conference, which will be held October 13 and 14 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham.

If last year's conference was any indication, this is an event you won't want to miss. Over 300 people attended the 2000 conference, which was held November 11 and 12, 2000. This event offered over 40 dynamic workshops on topics from court improvement to life books and everything in between.

What made last year's conference truly special, however, were the foster parents in attendance. Thanks to the way they shared their experience, support, and enthusiasm, foster parents came away from the event renewed and inspired. More than one was heard to say "I did not know anyone else was dealing with this. I feel so much better knowing I am not alone."

The success of this event owes much to its organizers, Ellene Cole, Regional Vice President and hard working board member of the NCFPA, and Nancy Carter of Independent Living Resources. Thanks to the efforts of NCFPA board members and those who support them, this event just keeps getting better.

YOU are the reason for the 2001 conference. Make plans now to attend. Many county departments of social services and private agencies will pay for all or part of your costs for attending the conference. Check with your agency to see if they will pay your fees. See you in October!

In one weekend, you can earn all of your training hours for relicensing have a great time, and get to know foster parents from all over North Carolina.
