Meet the North Carolina Foster Parent Association (NCFPA) board of directors

Annette Autry-Corbett, Vice President, Region Three, lives in Chatham County.
   
Becky Burmester, Region Three, lives in Wake County. She is serving her second year on the board as Secretary. She and her husband, Joe, have two adult children, and have been foster parents in 3 different states, including 8 years in North Carolina. Contact her at <[email protected]> or 919/870-9968.
   
Ellene Cole, Vice President, Region Four, lives in Caldwell County. An active Board member, last year Ellene was the member in charge of the annual conference. She and her husband are currently adopting two children from foster care.
   
Randy Delling, President, Region Two, lives in Guilford County. This is his third term on the board. Randy created and updates the NCFPA web page. In addition he is the Chairperson of the Infrastructure Committee, and is on the advisory board for Fostering Perspectives. Randy and his wife, Trudy, have been foster parents for more than seven years, and are in the process of adopting the foster children presently in their house.
   
Sheryl Ewing, Region Four, lives in New Hanover County.
   
Robin Foster, Region Two, lives in Mocksville (Davie County). She is serving her first year on the board because she wants to be a better voice for children.
   
Sondra Foy-Anderson, Region Two, lives in Guilford County. Sondra has been fostering for a little more than a year, and has cared for the same child for that time. She is also the mother of two wonderful sons. At work Sondra serves as a Volunteer Programs Coordinator for the Guilford County Schools; she is also an active volunteer in her church and community.
   
Marie Goodloe, Region Four, lives in Nash County. Marie serves on the Advocacy Committee. She has been a foster parent for a year, and loves to work with teenagers. Marie is also a social worker for the Edgecombe County Department of Social Services. She investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect. She has been doing this for seventeen years.
   
Theresa Graves, Region One, lives in Cabarrus County. This is her first year on the board, where she currently serves as Treasurer. As part of her duties, she chairs the board's Financial Committee. She is a single adoptive and foster parent. At one point she was also a kinship parent. She lives in Concord with two daughters and one foster daughter. To contact her, call 704/388-8224.
   
Mable Griffin, Region Four, lives in Lenoir County. She has been a board member for three years, including two years as Treasurer. She is an adoptive parent.
   
Laura Johnson, Region Four, lives in Wilmington (New Hanover County). She has been on the board since January 2001. She lives with her husband, Bill, and eight foster, adoptive, and biological children, and hopes to adopt the foster children. Their children all do very well in school and are active athletes. Laura hopes to improve training and support foster parents receive, and to enhance the public's perception of foster care.
   
Jane Kanoy, Region Two, lives in Davidson County.
   
Cynthia Klenke, Region Three, lives in Durham County. She and her husband, Steve, have been foster parents for 4 years. In December 1999, they adopted their first three foster children, and they are in the process of adopting their adopted daughter's younger sister. They also have two older birth children, and currently care for one foster child. Cynthia was elected to the board in November 2000. She currently serves as the chairperson for the Internal Communications Committee. She is the publisher for The College Guide, a national magazine for high school sophomores. She and her husband also own Ace Painting Co
   
Darnell McRavin, Vice President, Region One, lives in Mecklenburg County.
   
Patricia Dean-McCray, Vice President, Region Two, lives in Clemmons (Forsyth County). This is her first term on the board; she is currently serving on the Conference Committee for 2001. Pat and her husband, Johnny, have five wonderful children and they are the grandparents of seven. They have been foster parents for three years and are looking to adopt in the near future.
   
Wayne McNeil, Region One, lives in Wilkes County. He is serving his third term on the board. The last two years Wayne was the Region 1 Vice President. He is on the Advocacy Committee this term. Wayne is also the Financial Officer for Wilkes County FPA and is involved in working with CAPT (Child Abuse Prevention Team) in Wilkes County. Wayne and his wife, Iva, have been foster parents for more than five years, and are in the process of adopting their third child. After thirteen years of marriage the Lord has blessed Wayne and Iva—they will be having their first birth child in April.
   
Renee Schrom, Region Four, lives in Brunswick County.
   
Adonna Appling West, Region One, lives in Rutherford County. She is serving a two-year term as historian of the NCFPA. Donna is President of the local foster/adoptive parent association in Rutherford County. Adonna and her husband, Terry West, have adopted one child and are foster parents to another. Elisabeth Wyche Wood, Region One, lives in Henderson County, where she practices law. She is serving her second year on the board. Elisabeth and her husband, Chip, have been fostering seven years, and are the adoptive parents of one. They have had over forty placements and are currently caring for three foster children. Elisabeth has also served with Henderson County Foster Parent Association for a number of years.
